Predict and Win: USF at UConn, Cincinnati at Pittsburgh

USF at University of Connecticut

After losing five games by less then five points this season, UConn pulled off one of the biggest wins in school history when they knocked off Notre Dame in an amazing double overtime win. They followed up last week with a commanding win over Syracuse to secure a spot in post-season play. Saturday, they welcome USF in what looks to be a tough Big East Matchup.

USF is coming off a loss to No. 17 ranked Miami and although USF got off to a slow start, they did give Miami a scare. After giving up three touchdowns in Miami’s first four possessions, the USF defense found their groove holding the Hurricanes to only eight yards in their next four posessions. The question is, will they be able to contain UConn’s Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon who combined for 196 yards and four touchdowns in their win over Syracuse.

USF quarterback B.J. Daniels will be looking for the magic he found as he led the Bulls to big wins over both West Virginia and Rutgers. Daniels threw for 536 yards and rushed for 182 in the two games combined.

Cincinnati at Pittsburgh

The No. 5 ranked Bearcats have one more hurdle to clear on their road to a perfect season and that’s a win over Pittsburgh. But there’s much more then a perfect season riding on this game. While Cincinnati is eyeing it’s first BCS Bowl, a win for Pittsburgh means they could be playing on New Year’s Day.

Pittsburgh will be seeking redemption after losing to West Virginia by a field goal as the clock ran out.  You can bet Cinci coach Brian Kelly will be watching the tapes as the Mountaineers managed to slow Pittsburgh’s duel threat offense holding them to a season low 16 points—the first time they’ve scored less than 20 this year.

Just a heads up…this game was played two weekends ago (and we’re still getting some wrong “predictions.”)

This is not the “Golden Trivia Question.” Look again at the latest post on this blog.
